The Network Unit Installation Isolator 1000Y provides a safe plug-in of medical devices and personal computers within the patient's vicinity into an IEEE 803.2 (10/100- BaseT,Twisted-Pair) computerNetwork. Workstations are allowed to operate within the patient's, only if they are designed in compliance with IEC 60601-1 as a medical device or if they are fitted with an IEC 60601-1 compliant electrical protection system.
All Inputs and Outputs of a medical device to other non medical devices or Networks outside the surgery environment must comply with IEC-60601-1-1 standard. This galvanic isolation with sufficiently high dielectric strength is required to meet the IEC-60601-1-1 standard. The Network Unit installation Isolator 1000Y may also be vicinity used in non medical applications. It provides galvanic isolation for any equipment connected via Ethernet ports to prevent ground loops.
The Network Unit installation Isolator 1000Y is designed for mounting in housings with a wall thickness of up to 2.5mm. We recommend connecting the Faston connector (6.3x0.8) with the chassis ground, in order to reduce the influence of electric radiation emitted from internal cables.
The Network Unit installation Isolator 1000Y is designed to be used with the Yamaichi connector Y-ConIP20Lock-10, which provides improved protection against accidental human contact, and a vibration-stable strain relief. Alternatively, standard RJ45 connectors can be used.
Installation:
The Network Unit Installation Isolator 1000Y can be mounted into a panel cutout as detailed below, using the two mounting screws provided. Optional bezels may be fitted to improve asthetics, or to also improve user and patient safety in accordance with IEC 60601-1.
Recommended tightening torque: 0.55 Nm.
